With the way the economy is going today, it is no wonder more and more people are looking for ways to save money. This is especially true with vehicles. It is getting more and more costly to drive to and from work as well as taking the kids to school or just running errands around town. This is why it is very important to try to save money where you can, like lowering your car insurance. Many people do not realize that they can lower their car insurance by owning a certain type of car. If you want to look for the cheapest car to insure then you will want to go for a car that is a bit older. Many insurance companies see the older cars are easier ones to insure due to the fact that replacement parts are considerably less than the parts on news cars. Cars that have a lower value are the best to go for. You want to be sure that the car is in good shape so that you will not have a car that will nickel and dime you to death. You should also keep in mind that the size and shape of the car is important where insurance is concerned. If you are going with a larger type of car, your insurance will be higher. The same is true if you go with a small car. Midsize seems to be the best option where cheap car insurance is concerned. Many say that this is because small cars can have more damage done in the event of an accident and the larger cars will do more damage to other cars on point of impact in an accident. Some other factors to consider when you make your choice in a vehicle is that you can get lower insurance with a vehicle that has 4 doors rather than 2 and it may be wise to go with a domestic vehicle such as a minivan or one with a 4 cylinder motor.
